Yes, the repetitive lesson I learned over the years, is that for the most part, writers have no power in the film industry. So, I decided to push my boundaries and to find out. Is that how I was going to fall into directing? Hell, that required a totally different skillset. I had fallen into producing because I had no other choice. This seemed a bit far out to me at the time. So far, to review my last few blog entries, I have gone from writer to screenwriter, then to producer and then to director. Yes, we go through life and experience all the ups and downs, and of course all those things that go sideways, but we rarely have enough time to reflect upon what it all means. For me this is probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to write.
